Footprint

Brightness is stars per cell with a light curve from MASCARA (HEALPix order 6, log scale), over the whole archive in gray. Galactic Mollweide, Galactic center in the middle, east left, 30° graticule. It shows where the archive holds light curves, not the survey's full footprint.

BJD_TDB (bjd_tdb)

Converted to BJD_TDB by removing the heliocentric correction and applying the barycentric one. The native hjd is also served.

Magnitude system: The served mag is apparent V: the V magnitude from MASCARA's tables plus its published difference, which is also served as mag_delta.

Epoch selection

good epochs
every epoch (no quality flag is published)
detections
every good epoch (no limiting magnitude is published)
non-detections
not reported
Alias frequencies

linking

Crossmatch to VSX

Measured radius 5″, 0.29% chance matches.

MASCARA positions come from ASCC-2.5, which shares Tycho with VSX, so position cannot verify a link; 210 stars are verified by MASCARA's own VSX crossmatch.

ASCC-2.5 IDs are stable, and the MASCARA data set is final.

Caveats

  • No camera column: overlapping cameras' ~0.02 mag offsets remain in the scatter.
  • Unfiltered CCD calibrated to V, so its λ_eff is approximate.
LSDB

Bulk access

Light curves are in the nested lc_mascara column of curves_static.

# never concatenate across bands or surveys; bjd_tdb is the time axis for science
